A dance studio in Douglas is encouraging people to join their free online classes during lockdown.

Move It, based on Westmoreland Road has been doing everything it can during the recent lockdowns to keep students dancing, healthy and happy by way of its online platform.

This includes dance classes, catch ups and competitions.

Michelle O’Hea of Move It said: ’This current lockdown seems to have hit people a lot harder than previous times and I myself noticed it more in my six-year-old daughter.

’However, every week she looks forward to her online classes and for half an hour each day she has a bit of normality and fun in her life.’

Michelle said that with community spirit in mind and seeing herself how much her daughter looks forward to the classes, the Move It team have now made their online platform available to the public by means of Facebook live videos via a closed group.

She said: ’We would love to be able to get the island dancing and having fun and taking part in our competitions like our Strava exercise competition, or our favourite picture competitions, but most of all we would love to get everyone, all island residents, dancing and having fun and to give them something to look forward too each week during lockdown.’
