The island’s Lieutenant Governor, Sir Richard Gozney, was on hand to congratulate the cast of the Ramsey pantomime Peter Pan.
The show was put on by the Cloideryn Theatre Company, who invited the Governor and Lady Gozney to attend. Sir Richard sat through the performance and joined in with the audience chants, before being invited to meet with the cast and backstage crew.
Heather Ruffino, who directed the pantomime and also runs Cloideryn, said: ’The Governor thoroughly enjoyed it. Judging by their faces they really seemed to having a really good time. They got up and joined the cast at the end to say hello and how much they enjoyed it.
’They really seemed to relax and get into the panto spirit.
’They were great to talk to afterwards.’
Heather was presented with a bouquet of flowers at the end of the play, which was the 20th she has directed.
She hopes the visit will encourage others to get involved with future productions.
