The event takes place on Saturday (August 31) and will be hosted by two charities: Beach Buddies and Breast Cancer Now.
The charities previously joined forces to stage the New Year’s Day Dip this year in Douglas.
’We have wanted to have a beach party for some time,’ said Beach Buddies founder Bill Dale.
’But it takes a lot of organisation, and by teaming up with Breast Cancer Now we have been able to share the load and make it happen.’
Entertainment on the day includes a football challenge, sand art competition, beach treasure hunt, bouncy castle, face painting, making driftwood art, a community art project, seaglass craft making.
Beach activities
There will be access to existing beach activities in Port Erin, including kayaks and paddleboards.
There will also be car boot stalls on the promenade and the two charities will be running a fundraising raffle.
For adults, local bars are also making special Beach Buddies cocktails on the day, with a donation from each drink sold going to the charities.
Lindsay Quayle, of Breast Cancer Now said: ’We are still accepting bookings for car boot stalls and offers of help from volunteers on the day.
’Now it’s fingers crossed for decent weather.’
The event, which is aimed mainly at families, is being sponsored by Manx Telecom with support of Port Erin Commissioners and local traders.
The fun day takes place on Saturday afternoon from midday to 5pm.
