One of the highlights of the island’s cultural calendar, the Manx Music Festival, affectionately known as ’The Guild’, begins today (Friday) at the Villa Marina in Douglas.
The festival, which has has been inspiring and motivating solo performers and choirs since 1892, has as its climax the competition for the Cleveland Medal, donated by the Ohio (USA) Manx Society and competed for by the winners of six special solo classes held during the week.
