The Cyber Security Centre for the Isle of Man said it had received multiple reports about the calls.
Callers are attempting to create a sense of panic and pressure people into taking immediate action, a tactic commonly used in telephone-based fraud.
Anyone receiving a suspicious call is being advised to hang up and verify any claims directly with their bank or the organisation the caller claims to represent.
People are also being reminded never to disclose personal, banking or security information over the phone.
The Cyber Security Centre is encouraging anyone who has received one of the calls, or has concerns about a potential scam, to report it using its online reporting form.
The form can be found on the Cyber Security Centre website.
The Isle of Man Constabulary is also encouraging residents to share the warning with friends, family members and others who may be more vulnerable to this type of fraud.
A police spokesperson said: ‘It is especially important to reach those who may not use social media and could otherwise miss this warning.
‘A quick phone call, text, or conversation can make all the difference in preventing someone from becoming a victim.’
The Cyber Security Centre has previously warned that telephone scams can be particularly convincing, with fraudsters sometimes using information about their victims to make calls appear legitimate.
