A TT fan who died in an accident on the mountain road in 2015 will feature as part of this year’s TT road safety campaign.
Lewis Clark was hit by another rider who was on the wrong side of the road during the 2015 Manx Grand Prix, during which the one-way system on the mountain does not operate.
An advertising board at Ramsey Hairpin will feature Lewis’s burnt out bike and the message: ’Will you complete your lap? I couldn’t, through no fault of my own.’
Ferry passengers arriving in Douglas will be greeted by warnings: ’Don’TT Cross The Line - Avoid That Fine,’ and: ’It’s A Road, Not A Race Track.’
Posters will be on display around the island, including at camp-sites and popular viewing spots and un-marked police cars will also be used.
Road safety officers will travel on busy sailings to talk to visitors as they travel across during practice week.
On open roads during TT last year, there were three fatal accidents and six involving serious injury, according to Isle of Man police.
The one-way system will operate on the mountain from Ramsey Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa, as usual throughout practice and race week.
