Well over 100,000 lateral flow devices (LFDs) were delivered to the island yesterday and are being made available to the Manx public today.

Manx Care reported that island pharmacies were out of stock of LFDs between Friday and Sunday.

Further deliveries will be made ‘on a regular basis’.

The LFD packs will now be distributed by Civil Defence volunteers to community pharmacies and other regional pick-up points around the island.

The government advised that members of the public who wish to collect a kit from their local pharmacy should check the list of participating businesses, and any restrictions on visiting them which may apply, at: covid19.gov.im/general-information/lateral-flow-home-testing/.

It also said that to deter stockpiling no more than one set of seven tests should be requested per person.

Local authorities are also assisting in the distribution of LFDs, and the public can collect them from town halls and commissioners’ offices during normal opening hours at these locations:

Douglas Council (Henry Bloom Noble Library, Duke Street)

Peel Commissioners (Town Hall, Derby Road)

Castletown Commissioners (Castletown Town Hall)

Port Erin Commissioners office, Bridson Street

Ramsey Commissioners (Ramsey Town Hall, and Library on Saturdays)

Onchan Commissioners office, Hawthorn Villa, Main Road.
