Around 8,000 eligible adults in the island have not come forward to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

In the government briefing today Chief Minister Howard Quayle said: ’To those 8,000 people I would say this: vaccines are saving lives, every day, right here in the Isle of Man.

’Please think carefully about the decision you make.’

It was also revealed that of the 16 people in Noble’s Hospital with Covid today, 10 were aged under 80 and seven of those patients were unvaccinated.

The Chief Minister added: ’That is a really important figure - 70% of current patients aged under 80 are not vaccinated.’
