Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford will be the speaker at the Positive Action Group’s next public meeting.
Titled ’Meeting the Health challenge’, the Minister will give a presentation on Monday next week (March 26) which will focus on how he is meeting the challenges he faces and outline his plans for the future of the DHSC.
A PAG spokesman said: ’Health and social care play an important role in our lives, and Minister, David Ashford MHK is certainly up for the challenge to deliver.
’When he was appointed at the start of this year, he became the third DHSC Minister in just under four years.
’His short term task was to provide stability and leadership within the department. Now he is "changing the direction of travel". He is in no doubt about major challenges which loom to put the island’s services on a sustainable footing.’
There will be a question and answer session after the presentation, which takes place at the Manx Legion Club in Market Hill, Douglas at 7.30pm. The group’s AGM will start at 7pm.
