Eight locations have been identified which could pose a low risk of contracting Covid for people who visited at specific times.
They include the Gaiety Theatre on the closing night of this year’s panto.
It follows confirmation of a positive case who presented with symptoms on Saturday evening.
The low risk locations are:
*Wednesday December 30, 5.30pm to 6.30pm – Paparazzi, Loch Promenade, Douglas
7pm to finish – upstairs circle of the Gaiety Theatre
Friday January 1
2.30pm to 4.30 pm – Barbary Coast, North Quay, Douglas
*Saturday January 2
1pm to 2pm – Bay Hotel, Shore Road, Port Erin
*Sunday January 3
1pm to 1.45pm – Tesco, Lake Road, Douglas
*Tuesday January 5
12 noon to 12.30pm – Marks and Spencer, Drumgold Street, Douglas
*Wednesday January 6
12.30pm to 12.50pm – The Entertainer, Strand Shopping Centre, Douglas
1pm to 1.15pm – Boots, Strand Street, Douglas.
The government stressed that the risk to the general public is low.
If, however, anyone who has visited or was working in any of the locations during the relevant time period goes on to develop symptoms of Covid, they are encouraged to self-isolate and contact 111.
The service is open from 8am to 8pm each day.
People who have been at the venues but have no symptoms are not being asked to contact 111 at this time.
Dr Henrietta Ewart, director of public health, said: ‘With a number of busy venues identified, including the Gaiety Theatre, I appreciate there will be concern in the community.
‘The risk is low and it only applies to those who were at these locations at very specific times. We release details of low risk venues – and the relevant dates and times – so that those who were present know to be extra vigilant and aware to keep a look out for any Covid signs and symptoms they may develop.’
