The Health Minister has paid tribute to the former police officer who has died after contracting coronavirus.

David Ashford was speaking on behalf of himself and the Chief Minister, who is recovering at home from the virus.

Mr Lloyd, who was 57, died in the intensive care unit at Noble’s Hospital on Saturday just after 3pm.

Mr Ashford said: ’Richard embodied all the values of public service and community policing.

’Another light has gone out in our small, close community.

’It is a light that can never be rekindled.’
