Health Minister David Ashford has confirmed there has been an isolated case of Covid in a second nursing home.

It is understood the care home involved is in Douglas.

Remaining residents were this week being moved out of the Abbotswood nursing home in Ballasalla which has seen a major cluster of Covid cases.

Mr Ashford said: ’There has been one case within one other nursing home in the island which was a resident who has now been moved to Newlands.’There have been no other positive cases and everyone who has been in contact with that person has been tested and shown negative.’Mr Ashford told this afternoon's press briefing that the processes and procedures at the home were 'robust and had clearly shown to have prevented any further spread'.He said he could not identify the home as there was only one person in it.
