There has been one further case of coronavirus identified, taking the total to 326.

The number of deaths remains at 17 in the community and six in the hospital, all but four cases relating to residents from the Abbotswood nursing home.

Enterprise Minister Laurence Skelly, giving an update this evening, said there had been 3,416 tests carried out, with 43 awaiting results and 19 waiting for a test.

Nine Covid patients are being treated in hospital. Mr Skelly wished them all a speedy recovery.In total there are 40 active cases in the community and hospital. The contact tracing process is already under way.The Minister said more than £7m of support had been paid out to 2,000 businesses and the self-employed.He said £1.9m worth of support had been paid to 37 businesses in the tourism accommodation sector though the strategic capacity scheme, with 61 more applications in the pipeline.

There has been £60,000 worth of grant support paid out through a business adaptation scheme.

Mr Skelly said that had been 2,600 applications for MERA benefit and 8,000 employees in the workplace had been supported through the salary support scheme which has paid out £6m so far.
