Isle of Man Cancer Service User Forum is restarting its ’Meet the Consultant Evenings’ - thanks to sponsorship from Celton Manx Recognition.
These evenings are very informative nights for patients, especially those who have been recently diagnosed. There is a question and answer session at the end of the night.
The first event is at Douglas Golf Club on Monday (March 27) when two consultants from Noble’s Hospital will be giving presentations.
Dr Rebecca Miller is a consultant radiologist who is going to talk about advances in breast screening and what we can expect in the future.
She will also touch on the Manx Breast Unit and some of the new screening equipment used there. Locum general surgeon Ms Stella Charlampolous, who came to the island in January, will talk about the pathway taken by patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
She will also talk about breast reconstruction after cancer and the types of reconstructive surgery which are performed here in the island.
Monday’s event at Douglas Golf Club starts at 7.30pm. It’s free admission and there is easy parking.
