Java Express coffee shop and noodle bar will reopen tomorrow (Tuesday) after all staff tested negative for Covid.
The shop was named as a low-risk venue last week as part of contact tracing investigations into a Covid cluster.
A visitor to the bar last Tuesday lunchtime had gone on to test positive and then a second customer contacted 111 after they too developed symptoms. They were one of six new active cases announced today - the other five being their close contacts.
This evening Java Express posted that will be able to reopen tomorrow.
It said: ‘After initially being contacted by 111 late last night and given the news that our staff and customers were all required to isolate and be tested today, we fully complied, all staff and our families went into immediate isolation and I am pleased to inform you that all members of our team have received negative test results this evening.
‘Following on from that, we are pleased to say that as per 111 advice we are able to open for business as usual tomorrow morning.
‘It is however our intention to remain closed to the public first thing, whilst we undertake a deep clean of our premises as an additional precaution. We therefore intend to open at 10am.
‘We would like to thank all our friends, families and customers for all the support, calls and messages we have received today, it has been very reassuring at a truly difficult time.
‘Also a huge thank you to all the customers who have also been isolating and getting tested throughout today too, we hope you all receive negative results and can resume normal life soon.’
