There are now two cases of coronavirus in the island, the Chief Minister has confirmed.
Mr Quayle told a press conference that told people must avoid places where crowds gather including bars, clubs, restaurants and pubs.
He advised owners of gyms to consider their position.
But he said there were no plans, as yet, to close schools but this was being reviewed on a daily basis.
Mr Quayle said full details of everyone arriving by air and sea will be recorded and they must go straight home and self-isolate for 14 days.
He said police will deal with anyone who does not respect the self-isolation rules.
