The government has confirmed a patient at Noble’s Hospital has died from Covid-19.

When the daily statistics were updated on the government’s ’Covid dashboard’ on Sunday afternoon an additional death was recorded, but the government didn’t confirm the island’s 30th victim of the pandemic until later on Sunday night.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK said: ’I am deeply saddened by this news. My thoughts are with the loved ones and all those affected by this loss.’

There are currently a total of 1,197 active Covid cases in the island with 14 people with the virus in Noble’s Hospital. One remains in ICU.

Eighty six new cases were reported in Sunday’s statistical snapshot.
