University College Isle of Man is trying to recruit people to its nursing courses.
The applications for the September 2021 cohort aare still open for people are interested in the pending adult or mental health pre-registration nursing programmes.
Bernadette Devlin, pre-registration programme leader, said: ’Nursing is a very popular area of study, and every year we receive a large number of applications for the upcoming year.
’We would advise students to avoid leaving their application to the last minute, to prevent any disappointment.’
The three-year programme is full time, with the timetable being divided between theory and practice.
The college says the programme will help students to develop a broad range of technical and interpersonal skills which are required to provide the necessary evidence-based and person-centered care.
’As a result of the pandemic, nursing as a career has never been as vital as it is currently,’ Mrs Devlin said.
’The year 2020 has seen our student nurses stepping up to combat Covid-19, by working tirelessly on the frontline within the island’s testing centre.
’This is just one example of the hard work and dedication which has been displayed by our committed students.’
The college offers both adult and mental health nursing programmes based at its Keyll Darree campus, a multi-disciplinary education and training centre for health and social care staff on the island.
Applications for these pending programmes close on Wednesday, January 27.
