Two further deaths from coronavirus have been confirmed in the island, taking the total to 18.
One was a death in the community and one was in hospital meaning there have now been 13 deaths in the community and five in hospital.
Health Minister David Ashford said he understood that the further death in the community was from the Abbotswood nursing home but he was awaiting final confirmation.
If this is confirmed, it will take take the total number of Covid fatalities among residents at Abbotswood to 14.
Mr Ashford said he was not aware of whether or not the death in the hospital was also linked to Abbotswood.
Since the last update (4pm on Thursday) there has been one further confirmed positive test for coronavirus in the island. This follows two days when there were no new confirmed cases.
The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 308.
In total 268 patients have been instructed to self-isolate and 22 are being treated at the hospital. The contact tracing process is already underway led by Public Health.
There have been 2,715 concluded tests, 36 people are awaiting results and 49 people are awaiting tests.
In total 230 individuals are presumed recovered.
Ian Wright, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Noble’s who has been involved in carrying out modelling of the virus outbreak, said Covid’s growth rate in the island had been lower than the best case scenario, even including the outbreak at Abbotswood.
