Manx National Heritage (MNH) are beginning to reopen their sites following the easing of lockdown restrictions, starting today with the partial reopening of the House of Manannan’s shop, cafe and temporary exhibition gallery.
This will be followed by full reopening of both the House of Manannan and the Manx Museum on Saturday, February 13.
MNH Director Edmund Southworth said that this delayed reopening was because some staff had been redeployed to support the medical services and wider community during lockdown.
He added that the delay would also involve the deep cleaning of the sites, as well as the routine annual maintenance of exhibits, annual stock takes, library and archive annual inventory of collections.
