A planning permission request (21/01342/B) has been submitted to build two semi-detached houses on land behind on the old shop in Sulby, which closed its doors last year.

The shop itself, a landmark on the TT course, operated for 70 years, most recently as Caley’s General Stores.

It was sold to an unidentified resident last year.

Mark Pearce, the director of Ellis Brown Architects, is now applying as a potential owner of the plot of land, which includes the former shop, and which is situated opposite the road from the Sulby Glen pub.

The houses would have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen/dining area.

Their facade would be natural white rendering, and a block paved area for parking in front, with grass on either side, and access onto the Sulby Glen Road.

They would be bordered by timber fences and a stone wall.
