Monitors4kids are championing a new approach to diabetic testing for children on the island.
Diabetic children need to test their blood levels up to 15 times a day to ensure they have tight control over their condition.
Continuous glucose monitors (CGM) are a pain-free and discreet alternative to finger-prick blood testing.
However they come at a cost.
To self-fund this technology it costs the individual approximately £2,000 per annum - it is not a cost that can be covered easily.
The Monitors4kids campaign aims to raise £60,000 per year over the next two years to fund CGM monitors for all diabetic children on the island. At the same time, they are campaigning to get them put on to prescription in the Isle of Man.
KPMG and its staff are supporting this event to help raise funds for this worthy cause. The firm chose Manx Diabetic Group as its chosen charity for 2019 and this event is just one of many which will raise much needed funds for the charity.
