The inquest into the death of a martial arts instructor from Douglas opened this afternoon.
Scott Caldwell, aged 44, was found dead in a field in Trollaby Lane, Union Mills, by members of the fire service.
Police reports stated that there were no marks to his body or any signs of actions made by another person, but that there was a ’tub of white powder’ nearby.
Coroner John Needham gave the cause of death as ’acute cocaine toxicity and hypothermia’.
Mr Needham sent his ’sincerest condolences’ to the family of Mr Caldwell, who was born in Dunbartonshire, Scotland, and said that a date for the full inquest is yet to be decided.
