More than 150 people took to the skies above Douglas Promenades - whizzing 1,000 feet at speeds up to 30 miles an hour along the longest zip wire event ever held in the island.
In taking their leap of faith, thrill seekers raised more than £13,000 for local charity, the Children’s Centre.
Among those who took the plunge were Sue Hansen, aged 67, from Port St Mary, who was dressed as a unicorn and personally raised £130 for the charity.
Even the Children’s Centre chairman, Mike Gardner accepted the challenge after the charities staff raised £200 in sponsorship to encourage him.
Known for its challenging fundraising events, chief executive Fiona Dawson said: ’It was an incredible event that challenged boundaries for a lot of participants, including myself.
’This aligns with our charitable work that leads to increased confidence, self-esteem and a belief that despite challenges we can achieve with help and support.
’Thank you to everyone that took part and raised a significant amount of money that will directly benefit local children and young people.’
The Children’s Centre thanked Utmost Wealth Solutions and the Steam Packet for sponsoring this event.
