Isle of Man Meats has passed its latest BRCGS and Red Tractor audits.

The accreditations require regular, rigorous inspections to be carried out. Both are recognised across the food and farming industry as symbols that show the highest industry standards are being achieved.

BRCGS is the widely respected organisation that sets benchmarks for good manufacturing practice and helps build confidence in the supply chain by ensuring high standards for food safety. Following an independent, annual audit of the meat olant, Isle of Man Meats has been given Grade A status and presented with the BRCGS Global Standard For Food Safety Issue 8 Certificate.

It is not the first time IoM Meats has achieved Grade A status, which is only awarded if high standards are met across a wide range of checks, including food safety, legal compliance, and animal welfare.

The latest Red Tractor audit resulted in Isle of Man Meats again being awarded a Red Tractor Assurance for Meat and Poultry Processing Certificate of Conformity. Red Tractor is recognised as a world leader in farming and food standards, and its logo is renowned as a symbol which reassures consumers that the food they buy is traceable, safe and farmed with care.

Phil Parsons, plant director at Isle of Man Meats, said: ‘BRCGS and Red Tractor are badges of credibility that are respected throughout the industry. Consistently meeting, and often exceeding, these high standards year after year is further proof of the quality of our people, plant, procedures, and products. Promoting Isle of Man Meats as a business accredited by BRCGS and Red Tractor all give consumers and retailers the confidence of knowing that our processes and production values are of the highest quality, all the way from pasture to plate.’
