Juan Callister, 34, lives in Kirk Michael with wife Jo and four children, Jude, Violet, Harvey and Paige.

He works at Groundcare Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Contractors.

Juan recently won the Arrane Son Mannin song competition, when he performed his song, Yn Faagedyr, along Jo and his sister, also called Jo, in a band called ’Drogh Yndis’.

He also sings backing vocals with the Pink Floyd tribute band Pigs OnThe Wing, and has shared a stage with Davy Knowles.

What is your idea of a perfect meal?

It would have to be a barbeque on Glen Wyllin beach with plenty of local meat and beer whilst the sun sets.

What is your favourite way to relax?

It would be either going out riding a motorbike on my own in the sun or sat by the fire watching an action movie, like Gone in 60 Seconds.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Motorbikes. You can never have too many. Someone once told me that if you have more kids than bikes, then you’ve lost. So I have four, and the kids have one each.

Do you have any pets?

I’ve got one cat and three chickens.

What is your greatest achievement?

Finishing the parish walk first time with no training. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’ll never look at Maughold quite the same again.

What is your favourite time of the year?

Summertime on the beach. I love the sun on my bones! But I do like a crisp cold November day too.

What is the first job you ever had?

I was a milkman for Crowe’s farm, in Bishopscourt. I am not a morning person at all, but it was a nice feeling being up before everyone else though. If the weather was good, that is.

Do you have any irrational fears?

Interviews. They send shivers down my spine.

What is your worst habit?

I can’t stop. I always need to be tinkering with something!

What is your favourite book?

The Da vinci code. I don’t read many books, but that one had me gripped.

What is your favourite TV programme?

Scrapheap Challenge. It is the best programme ever to grace our screens. It probably stems from my fantasy of living in a post apocalyptic world.

What is your favourite band/artist at the moment?

Offspring

What is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?

That place at the end of Ronaldsway runway, where you can sit on the cliff watching the sea, and then then every half hour or so. It feels like you almost get hit in the face by a magnificent flying machine.

What is the last show/band that you saw live?

Bryan Adams in Leeds

If time/money were no object, what would be your perfect day?

It would be TT week at the hospitality tent, meeting past and present riders, eating good food and having a few beers to boot.
