The Isle of Man Examiner is one of six local weekly newspapers shortlisted to become Weekly Newspaper of the Year.
The island’s oldest newspaper beat competition from dozens of local weeklies in the UK to be shortlisted.
The winner of the title will be announced at the News Awards - formerly the Newspaper Awards - next month.
Editor Richard Butt said: ’We believe our team produce great newspapers. They’re good packages of news, sport and features, with lots of interest. We’re delighted that our peers in the industry agree with us.
’Our investigations into the collapsed Louis Group, the Premier Group, the Snaefell tram crashes and the £200,000 surplus cash at Port St Mary Commissioners have provided strong stories - but we also love to report community news at the heart of Manx life.’
