The third Trinity Eisteddfod takes place will take place in the centre of Douglas this weekend.
The event, held at the Trinity Church, Rosemount, is an informal and friendly evening of competition of community singing, story-telling and poetry, with classes open to all to take part in, including classes in traditional community singing events such as hymn raising.
There are classes for instrument solo, ladies and men’s open singing, children’s singing up to the age of 14 and own composition.
There are also classes for a duet or ensemble cast, poetry recitation of either your own or a favourite poem..
There is a also a fun ’Spelling ’ round, an impromptu speech and many more spontaneous competitions throughout the night.
The evening will be compered by Zoe Cannell, the current Manx Bard, with adjudication from Sophie Rudge and Olivia Landels, and local musician Gareth Moore providing the accompaniment.
The event is open for all ages to take part in and people can enter simply by turning up on the night, with no prior preparation or rehearsal needed.
This is the third time the annual event has been held since 2018, when the Trinity Eisteddfod was recreated, based on a former popular community event that was held throughout the first half of the 20th century.
Entrance is £5 for adults and £3 for children, with supper provided.
