Describing himself as a ’late-bloomer’, a local singer songwriter has just released his latest single.

’The Eternal Silent Bliss’ was released by guitarist and singer Jon Lightfield.

The dark, rock track is a step away from Jon’s usual folk and country influences, which he said was written and based on his wife’s favourite series of books.

’I like to try to create songs of all styles,’ said Jon.

’It’s a nice challenge, especially when the ideas come from the weirdest reasons.

’This song came to me when my wife was reading "The Vampire Diaries" early last year.

’One day it just came as a riff and I thought this sounds Vampire-ish.’

This is Jon’s fifth release over the past 12 months, after the original lockdown gave him the time and space to focus of producing music.

Fast approaching 50 years of age, Jon describes himself as being young at heart, even though he is something of a late bloomer, when it comes to song writing.

His single ’Home’ came out in April and was followed by a six-track EP with a Christmas song coming out late last year and ’Dancing With the Stars’ being released earlier this year.
