June Thomas from Ramsey was voted Carer of the Year at the National Care Awards 2018.

June is a health care assistant at Tudor Lodge, Douglas. She fought off fierce competition from 2000+ nominees for this most popular category.

She said: ’I was surprised but delighted to have won such an award. Thanks to my nanager Mary Callaghan for the nomination and the residents for their lovely testimonials.

’I feel deeply honoured and really appreciated.’

The winners were presented with their trophies by host and impressionist Jon Culshaw at the London Hilton attended by 700 guests from all over the UK.

The National Care Awards is an annual event organised by Caring Times, a management magazine for the social care sector.
