Katy Coffey is presented with a bag of Manx goodies by Girlguiding Island Commissioner Karen Walker.
Katy is a young leader from Port St Mary and has been selected to travel to Romania with a group of senior section members from Girlguiding across the north west of England in a service project at the end of July.
Katy will travel to Transylvania, Romania, in order to undertake an agricultural project at an orphanage with the hope that in the future it will make the orphange self-sustaining.
As part of the process she has had to raise £2,000 to fund the cost of the trip.
Through various events she has raised this and would like to thank Steam Packet, Sarah Smiley, Mount Tabor Methodist Church and the Guides and Rainbows.
Katy has said she is most looking forward to the voluntary experience in another country and for forming new and lasting friendships.
