The drive-thru sign for the island’s new KFC has been transported to the Isle of Man on the Ben-my-Chree.

The fast food takeaway and restaurant is expected to open by this summer, on the Peel Road site in Douglas, which will also include a new Starbucks and a third yet to be announced unit, thought to be a restaurant.

Work resumed last July at the former Eurocars site, after being interrupted by the pandemic.

All three buildings are now well into their construction, with all roofs completed and walls in the process of being added.

The planning application originally triggered a lot of opposition but was given the go-ahead before the pandemic.

The project is being undertaken by Excel Construction Group.

Once open, KFC, which used to have an outlet in Duke Street, Douglas, will operate with opening hours of 10.30am to 11pm and Starbucks from 6am to 10pm, both for seven days a week.
