Children have been kept busy over their summer break with Pulrose Youth Club’s first ever holiday club.
The two week-long initiative, near Manor Park School in Douglas, gave children aged six and seven opportunities to get outdoors and use their creative skills with arts and crafts activities.
Staff from the government’s youth service worked with the young club members over the school holidays.
They took children for trips around the island, such as Onchan Park, and to nearby rivers for them to paddle in.
Youth worker Val Goldie said: ’We’re going to run it again.
’The children really enjoyed it and the feedback from parents was very positive. They have said they want more of it.
’We would like to say a big thank you to the children, parents and grandparents for attending the Pulrose holiday club and the staff Suzanne and Voirrey for working hard to make it happen.’
She also extended her thanks to charities Manx Wildlife Trust and Trash to Treasure as well as Creg ny Baa, Peel Golf Club, Intersport, Hair Razor and staff from the Isle of Man Airport fire station for their support towards the youth club.
Before the holiday club started, Pulrose Youth Club held a Tea Time Club, as the children gave planters with bedding flowers to residents of Hazel Court sheltered housing, which is operated by Douglas Council.
