There are a few days remaining to visit an exhibition of one of the most renowned modern art collections in Britain.

More than 50 works are on display at six venues around the Isle of Man.

Awakening - The Methodist Modern Art Collection - is continuing until Sunday at Ramsey Methodist Church, St German’s Cathedral in Peel, Colby Methodist Church and the Promenade Methodist Church in Douglas. There are also a limited number of works on show at Ballagarey Methodist Church in St Mark’s and St Andrew’s United Reformed Church in Douglas.

The freeexhibition depicting biblical themes and narrative offers a modern (early 20th century to present day) interpretation of some familiar stories, and has been visited by school groups, organisations and artists.

It’s the first time the touring exhibition, opened in the island last month by Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney, has visited Manx shores in its 50-year history.

The Steam Packet Company has supported the organisers, the Methodist Church in the Isle of Man, by assisting with the cost of travel to and from the island.

The Anglican Church and the Isle of Man Arts Council have also made donations to help bring the British Methodist Church owned art collection to the island.
