Adults and children have a chance to learn stage and screen combat skills at workshops being held during this year’s Isle of Man Film Festival.
Festival organisers, in partnership with Stage Door Entertainment, are hosting two workshops suitable for a range of ages and abilities.
Expert tutor Ian Stapleton will lead two sessions teaching the basics of combat for stage and screen.
Festival organiser Dave Armstrong said: ’Ian’s sessions are highly practical and are sure to be very entertaining. Learning combat skills is great fun for everyone, but for those looking to get involved in amateur dramatics, or even pursue a career in film, television or theatre, combat skills are essential for certain roles.’
The price for each session is £12.
Advance booking is recommended because the workshops are limited to 25 people per session.
The workshops take place in the Studio Theatre at Ballakermeen High School on September 8.
The workshop for adults (anyone aged 16 or over) runs from 10am to noon.
The children’s workshop, suitable for those aged from eight to 16, runs from 1pm to 3pm.
Participants will need to wear sport or dance wear that allows free movement.
The Isle of Man Film Festival - now in its seventh year - runs from September 5 to 9.
