Here’s a pew with a view!

These benches make a welcome sight for many a weary walker - and a perfect spot to tuck into a picnic lunch.

On the coastal footpath above Knockaloe Farm, this Happy Hikers sculpture by talented local artist Nick Barlow is a popular spot to take a selfie.

It was unveiled in October last year as a memorial to past members of the Manx Footpaths Conservation Group on the 30th anniversary of the Raad ny Foillan.

Benches often feature memorial plaques to lost loved ones and there can be no better place to sit and contemplate happy memories and lives now departed.

But there’s humour too - like the cheeky invitation to ’Rest your Bum’ on a Raad ny Foillan bench just to the north of Port Grenaugh.
