Hospice’s annual Light up a Life ceremony took place on Sunday.

Members of the public are invited to sponsor a light on the Hospice Christmas tree in memory of a loved one.

This year the lights were switched on by Hospice young ambassador, Alexandra Slater.

Hospice chief executive Anne Mills welcomed everyone to the service which accompanied the lighting up with a Reflection by volunteer chaplain Rev Richard Hooton. This was followed by an Act of Remembrance by volunteer chaplain Father Tom Davis who addressed the crowd, saying: ’As we think of all those whose lives these lights celebrate we can all say together: "We will remember them".’

There was a prayer and Christmas blessing from Hospice president, Brian Partington, music from Douglas Town Band and carols from the Hospice Choir.
