One of the loudest bands around, the island’s own top-rated AC/DC tribute group DC/AC are appearing at the Villa Marina on Thursday, August 27, from 8pm.
The faithful covers group, featuring singer Adrian Bruce and guitarist Paul Docherty, stepping to the flat cap and schoolboy uniform of Brian Johnson and Angus Young, together with guitarist Kev Cleator, bassist Richard Raine and drummer John Cleator, are kick starting a weekend of top live music over the bank holiday weekend at the Villa Marina, supported by the 70s and 80s rock covers group Symbollix.
They will be followed on the Friday night by the Radiohead tribute band OK Computer, who are playing a free concert in the Promenade Suite, and the Pink Floyd tribute group Pigs on the Wing, who are playing on the Royal Hall stage on Saturday night.
Promoter Lenny Conroy said that it is exciting to be able to host a large-scale concert again after the lockdown.
’It is a welcome return to the largest venue on the island and will likely be the biggest live concert in British Isles where there is no social distancing,’ said Lenny.
’Its a fitting celebration to have three of the top local bands playing back to back on what will be a spectacular weekend of entertainment and live music at the Villa is long overdue.’
Tickets for DC/AC are £15, available from the Welcome Centre and the Villa Gaiety Box Office, on 600555 and online from villagaiety.com
