Ballasalla’s Dave Addinall will lead the local charge when the 2019 International Pool Players Association (IPA) tour reaches its conclusion in the Isle of Man next week.
Professional player Addinall, of is one of more than 25 island-based competitors who will participate in the season-ending event which is being held at the Palace Hotel and Casino in Douglas.
The association has teamed up with the Department of Enterprise and the Palace Hotel to bring the 2019 IPA Tour to the island for what should be an excellent season finale, with increased prize money and ranking points at stake.
There will be a whopping £30,000 on offer in the final round of the tour and the event will be streamed live on the BBC Sport website to fans all around the globe.
The world’s best players will descend on the Palace between Friday and Sunday to battle it out for the Isle of Man open, professional, amateur and women’s blackball titles at the Visitisleofman.com- sponsored event.
The entry includes world champion Marc Farnsworth, rankings leader Neil Raybone, top amateurs Scott Gillespie and Tom Cousins and arguably the leading female player in history, Emma Cunningham.
More than 130 players will arrive Friday morning ahead of their start times, all hoping to be crowned a champion by Sunday evening amid the noise and colour of 16 tables in action at the one time.
