The EVF filling station on Peel Road in Douglas had to be closed this (Wednesday) afternoon after a small lorry carrying a hoist collided with the canopy.

The accident happened shortly before midday when the lorry was apparently visiting to buy fuel.

The site was shut during the afternoon for fuel sales but the shop remained open for other trade.
