The Manx Lottery Trust has helped Housing Matters instal a telephone system as part of the charity’s move to premises in Albany Lane in Douglas.

Housing Matters was formed to help give advice, guidance and support around housing matters to people living on the Isle of Man

Alongside the need to instal a new system in the new premises, an increase in phone calls over recent months had meant that the charity was aware that some calls were going unanswered.

The new system offers additional lines and the facility for service users to have access to a separate line too. This is vital to allow them to keep in contact with their support services, to ring landlords and to keep in touch with families.

Julie Marshall, homeless projects development manager at Housing Matters, said: ’Manx Lottery Trust have been fantastic supporters of Housing Matters. To have an increased capacity telephone system, and the facility for a separate line for services users, has made a great difference to the quality of services we’re able to deliver.’

Lulu Gillow, chair of the Manx Lottery Trust, added: ’We were very happy to help Housing Matters improve the quality of their invaluable service provision.

’Alongside the Thematic Funding and Community Awards programme, we’re very pleased to be able to help with Smaller Grant awards to worthy causes too.’
