A 40-year-old man from Lonan has admitted two counts of possessing cannabis.
Gary Ramsden, of All Saints Park, pleaded guilty to having 0.4 grams of cannabis bush worth £8 and 1.6 grams of cannabis resin worth £8.46.
Analysis of a third substance was still awaited.
Police found Ramsden in Cronkbourne Road, and he was said to be smelling of alcohol and being slightly unsteady on his feet.
He was searched and police found a wrap containing the cannabis bush, resin and the other substance, which they put on a car bonnet as they continued the search.
Ramsden lunged towards the wrap but was restrained and arrested.
He told police: ’You lot are setting me up.’
When interviewed, Ramsden said he had been out watching football in a pub and bought the wrap for £30 and forgot it was in his pocket.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes adjourned the case until September 19 to await the outcome of the analysis of the third substance saying it would affect sentencing.
