A man sustained serious head injuries following an alleged assault in Peel last night (Saturday).
The incident took place at about 10.35pm on the paved area outside the House of Manannan, directly opposite the Creek Inn.
Police said a 25-year-old old local man was taken by ambulance to Noble’s Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
He remains there tonight as an in-patient undergoing treatment.
Two Peel men, aged 18 and 20, were arrested.
Both men have subsequently been charged with committing grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in police custody until their court appearance tomorrow (Monday).
Detective Constable Louise Kennaugh, who is leading the investigation, said: ’We know that there were a large number of people in the area at the time of this incident, who will have undoubtedly witnessed what has happened.
’We have already spoken to a number of witnesses, but are keen to speak with anyone who was present, who has not yet spoken to us.
’This is very much a live inquiry and we would appreciate all help that the public can provide us.’
The case is being investigated by CID detectives based at police headquarters in conjunction with officers from Peel police station.
