Joey Wylde has been away from the Manx gig scene for a while. That, however, is about to change this weekend.

After releasing his most recent single ’Love You Want’, which came out on New Year’s Day, Joey heads to The Front Porch in Duke Street, Douglas tomorrow night (Friday), before heading north to the Mitre in Ramsey on Saturday.

Next this week we head to Jaks where, tomorrow night (Friday), 995 return to the stage for one of their regular gigs at the Douglas-based bar.

For those not in the know, the band drops a setlist that features a variety of pieces ranging from modern offerings from the likes of One Republic, Walk The Moon and The Stereophonics to older classics from Jimi Hendrix, The Jam, Python Lee Jackson, The Cult and more.

The band will hit the stage from around 10pm onwards.

Head just along the prom tomorrow night, and you might just catch the Blue Stragglers, fronted by the husband-and-wife rhythm and blues-playing duo Barry and Val Nelson, with John Barker on lead guitar, Steve Grey on keyboards and Edd Saunders on drums.

They will be playing at the Original Quids Inn from 9.15pm to midnight.

Back to with Jaks and on Saturday, January 11, Totally 80s are set to make an appearance.

The band features Lauren Wasley on vocals, Dave Holland on keys and vocals, Jonny Peacock on drums, John Barlow on guitar and Johnny Galbraith on bass and pull out a setlist from the likes of Duran Duran, Human League, UB40, The Specials and A Flock of Seagulls amongst many others.

Head South to Compton Vaults in Castletown on Saturday night and, from 9pm, you’ll catch Fugue State in action.

Featuring Brian Duffy on drums, Mark Hutton on guitar, Kriss Lane on guitar and vocals and Paul Nicholson on vocals and bass, the band pulls out a covers set that features songs hand picked from the classic rock and metal end of the spectrum.

Finally, the Chris Winchester Band head to The Quids Inn on Saturday night.

The band that features a line-up completed by Chris Winchester himself on guitar and vocals, Paul Tonks on keys and vocals and Mark Burrows on bass, play a set that features contemporary acoustic covers from the likes of Ed Sheeran and Coldplay amongst many others.
