The Steam Packet have confirmed the Ben-my-chree is returning to Douglas following a medical emergency on-board.

Having left the island just before 8.45am, the vessel turned around about 9.30am to return to Douglas where an ambulance was seen waiting at the harbour.

The company has said the vessel left Douglas for a second time just at 9.45am and is due to arrive in Heysham about 1.40pm.

This afternoon’s return sailing to the island will likely be facing a slight delay from its scheduled 2.15pm departure.
