Mike Williams and Al Lawrence got together to play a gig to a packed and appreciative audience at St James’s church hall in Dalby on Saturday evening.
The pair were two thirds of Mike, Laurence and Al, the popular folk and traditional trio that played at several venues across the island in the 1970s and early 1980s.
Their last regular weekly ’gig’ was at the Ballacallin, in Dalby in 1982.
Mike has lived in the South Lake District area for the last 15 years.
As entertaining as ever, Mike and Al’s trademark humour and timing shone through once more, while Mike managed a T. E. Brown monologue - formerly the domain of his old friend Laurence Kermode, who passed away in 2015 at the age of 100.
Saturday’s concert raised funds for Mannin Sepsis.
