Families turned out to take a ride on the Groudle Glen Mince Pie trains which ran despite the bad weather on Boxing Day.
It was the last running day of 2019 for the popular steam railway and lots of people took the opportunity to blow away the festive cobwebs.
The trains were running through the day from 11am to 3pm so there was plenty of opportunity to take a ride aboard to ’North Pole Halt’ and the weather improved as the day wore on.
The railway’s Christmas programme, which include Santa trains and the Mince Pie trains, carried passengers on trains pulled by Sea Lion and their new engine, Brown Bear, which arived Groudle Glen last summer after six years of fundraising. Their other new engine, Otter, also had a trip out on the Saturday before Christmas.
This was also the first year the railway trialled free shuttle bus services with Bus Vannin and Minibuses Isle of Man, and these proved very popular with passengers.
You’ll have to wait until April to take your next ride on the railway, when they run their popular Easter Bunny trains.
