Manx Utilities has confirmed that it wishes to proceed with the introduction of two electric vehicle charge points at Station Road car park.

This will give Ramsey the highest number of EV points per capita on the island.

There are already charge points at Market Place.

Town clerk Peter Whiteway said the charge points would be sited at individual parking bays where a two-hour parking limit is in force.

An electric car could be sufficiently charged to travel between 30 and 40 miles in that time, he said.
