More than 165 people took part in the latest Isle of Man Orienteering Klubb event, at Conrhenny Wood in Onchan in an event that was staged before the new lockdown began.
Participants set off in different directions navigating to the orienteering locations marked on their map.
They had one hour to find as many of the flags as they could at the various locations throughout the wood, where they pin punched their scorecard to record their visit. The club thanked all participants, the Department of the Environment, Food and Agriculture, the Mylchreests Group which helped support this event and to the Manx Lottery Trust which funded the map.
The club’s development officer, William Higgins, said: ’With participation numbers in Isle of Man orienteering now reaching high levels, the next natural step would be to partner with a corporate sponsor to purchase electronic equipment for competitors to use at events and to continue the development of orienteering as an activity on the island.’
