A long running series of winter musical concerts comes to an end next week, with the appearance of two classical musicians, hailing from opposite sides of the world.

The Ramsey Music Society will bring the curtain down on their 2017/18 season of performances with a concert from UK classical baritone singer Henry Neill, and New Zealand pianist Somi Kim.

The concert will take place on Monday, March 19 at the Ramsey Grammar school hall, West Building, from 7.30pm.

Henry Neill is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music Opera School.

Among his recent performances, he appeared at the Royal Albert Hall, where he sang Handel’s The Messiah. He has also made appearances on Radio 3 and Radio 4. Currently based in London, Henry is a member of the Thuringen Opera Studio at the Deutsches National Theatre, Germany.

South Korean born New Zealand pianist Somi is also a graduate from the Royal Academy of Music, which she completed last year.

She is considered as one of today’s most highly regarded young pianists with a string of competition successes and has extensive concert experience already behind her.

Somi joined the classical NZTrio as a guest pianist for their 2018 season, a piano trio that is recognised as a ’national treasure’ in New Zealand.

Tickets for the concert are £12, available on the door on the night. Entry for under 18s and students is free.

The Ramsey Music Society will begin their 2018/19 programme in September, with an appearance of the international concert pianist Alexander Panfilov.

The Ramsey Music Society season of concerts are supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council.
